Pharmacotherapy In Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
نویسنده
چکیده
Cardiac arrest is defined as cessation of cardiac mechanical activity. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an attempt to restore spontaneous circulation through several maneuvers and techniques. Although the two interventions, which are competent basic life support and prompt defibrillation, improve the survival rate, several adjuvant cardiac medication drugs are advocated to treat cardiac arrest during advanced cardiac life support. Since the introduction of modern CPR there have been many advances in the field of pharmacotherapy in CPR. Therefore, we aimed to summarise the cardiac medication drugs used for patients in ventricular fibrillation (VF) or pulseless ventricular tachycardia (VT) or non VF/VT in the practice of advanced cardiac life support. Towards achieving this aim, the effects and practical issues related to vasopressors, antiarrythmic agents and, others such as sodium bicarbonate, calcium, magnesium and atropine will be addressed in the scope of the recent updates in the literature.

متن کاملEvaluating Knowledge Level of the Medical Students about Children Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in Aliebne University of Medical Science
Introduction: Awareness of pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is obligatory for every graduated medical student. In fact, only correct and effective Cardiopulmonary resuscitation can increase the survival rate of patients with cardiopulmonary arrest and since CPR techniques and maneuvers should be done in a specific way for children, it is important to evaluate the knowledge of pedia...
متن کاملSurvival after In-Hospital Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in a Major Referral Center during 2001-2008
Despite efforts to save more people suffering from in-hospital cardiac arrest, rates of survival after in-hospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) are no better today than they were more than a decade ago. This study was undertaken to assess the demographics, clinical parameters and outcomes of patients undergoing CPR by the code blue team at our center during 2001 to 2008. Data were collec...
